Sunscreen is the single most effective anti-aging step there is, and it is also the one people abandon fastest. Usually that is because the routine is fussy or the product feels unpleasant. The fix is not more discipline; it is a setup simple enough that skipping it takes more effort than doing it.
Pick a texture you like
The best sunscreen is the one you will reapply. If a thick white cream annoys you, you will find reasons to skip it. Modern fluids, gels, and tinted formulas wear lightly and dodge the chalky cast. Try a few small sizes before committing to a bottle.
- Amount: roughly two finger-lengths for the face and neck.
- SPF: 30 is the floor for daily wear, 50 for long days outside.
Reapplication is the weak point
One morning application is not enough if you are outdoors. Keep a stick or compact in your bag and top up every couple of hours when the sun is strong. Over makeup, a powder or stick sunscreen reapplies without smearing your base.
Make it automatic
Park the bottle next to your moisturizer so the two steps feel like one. Habits stick when the cue is already in front of you.
You do not need a ten-step regimen to protect your skin. You need one product you do not mind wearing and a place to put it on for the second time later in the day.
